VINTAGE RIFLE TELESCOPES

In 1855 William Malcolm started building the first production riflescopes in the world. For 40 years the U.S. Army has been continuously using Leatherwood ART scopes. The new patented Unit-Dial system is the first vertical adjustment system that allows the shooter to easily set his own range reference marks or to use one scope for several calibers. Scope comes standard with a fine cross hair reticle.

The Standard "Wm. Malcolm" Scope & Mounts offers authentic looks and styling, but has been built with the benefits of some modern scope making technology. Unlike the originals of the late 1800's, this 6x long tube-type scope is built with light gathering full multi-coated lenses. Plus, for fog-free service on those cold damp mornings, the "Wm. Malcolm" scope is built with a nitrogen-filled 3/4" diameter tube. Thanks to a unique design,  varying length extension tubes can be added to the front of the scope to accommodate  rifles with barrel lengths from 28" to 34".  Scopes come with fully adjustable authentically styled external mounts, that use the factory 3/8" cut front and rear sight dovetails. The Standard Scope is 6x power, measures 31" in length and comes with a 5" extension tube. A 3", 7" or 9" extension can replace the standard 5" extension to fit different length barrels.

The shorter Malcolm is ideal for many of the single-shot and lever-action cartridge rifles produced during the late 1880s and 1890s. Built with  a strong 3/4" diameter steel tube, polished steel ocular and objective lens housings, adjustable focus eye-piece, fully multi-coated lenses, long 4" eye-relief and windage/elevation adjustable external mounts. Two types of short scopes are available - A 3 power that is 17" long and a 6 power that is 18" long. These scopes are a must for your Winchester Model 1885 rifle, H&R “ Buffalo Classic”, Winchester ’73, ’76, ’92 & ‘94 models, Henry “Golden Boy” .22, Marlin ’94 / ’95 models, and others. Comes complete with mounts. 1/2" - 60 degree base mounts

At some point around the end of the 19th Century, scope mounts that allowed the scope to move forward under recoil appeared. This reduces the force on the rear mount considerably and totally eliminates any possibility of the shooter contacting the scope eyepiece on firing. Even though our scope has 4 inches of eye relief this is a concern to some shooters.
For those customers who want to have a moveable scope, we have developed a sliding mount that replaces the standard rear block with a modified rear block and a collar that guides the scope and prevents its rotation. The rest of the scope remains the same and same vertical adjustment is still available. As with all moveable scopes the scope must be repositioned to the rear after each shot.

Designed for the discriminating BPCR shooter who demands the utmost in precision sight adjustment. And when installed on our “Wm Malcolm” scope, the combination will blow all others away when it comes to precision adjustment…precision sighting…and precision shooting. These superbly crafted mounts have been designed to reliably give shooter ¼” MOA (minute of angle) windage and elevation adjustments when needed, while totally eliminating unwanted movement due to “slop” or “slap” from recoil. Thanks to the solid “Unertl” type steel base, the precision mount allows the scope to be totally removed from the rifle then replaced without any changes to adjustment. This precision mount will require four 8-40 standard screw holes drilled and taped behind the rear dovetail.

This heavy-duty recoil base is designed for the long Malcolm scope. This base needs to drill and tap two holes in front of the rear dovetail to be installed. This base is included in the standard scope package.

This fine elevation adjustment is an accessory of the Long Malcolm scope. You can elevation adjusted ¼” MOA by turning the adjusting screw up and down.

This heavy Duty Recoil tube-locking collar is designed for the Long Malcolm Scope to prevent the scope moving forward. This TLC ring is included in the standard scope package.

Some today’s rifle (Notably Shiloh, C Sharps Arms) feature large front and rear dovetail cuts in their barrels. We have a special kit for these type rifles. And we also have four different dovetail blocks for different dovetail sizes. They are DB0.375 (3/8”), DB050 (1/2”), DB0625 (0.625”) and DB0468” (0.468”).

This Mount Set is to mount the short Malcolm Scope on the Winchester 73 or 76—the Top ejection Gun. This mount includes the front and rear mounts and no need to drill and tap the gun.

This Mount Set is designed to mount a Short Malcolm Scope on the Winchester 92 or 94 Top Ejection Guns. The mount set has the front and rear mount. The rear mount may need to drill and tap two holes on left side of the receiver to be installed if your rifle does not have the two screw holes on the left.

This mount set is designed to install the Short Malcolm Scope on the Sharps. This mount set has front and rear mount, which also comes with the mounting screws needed.

This special mount is designed to mount the Short Malcolm Scope on Henry Golden Boy .22. The mount comes with a special 3/8” dovetail block to install the mount on rifle. No dill and tap are required for installation.

This base is designed for the H&R Buffalo Classic Riffle. You just need to screw this base on the back of the rifle and no dill and tap are required to install this base on rifle.

This is the sliding ring for the short scope when you need to install the short Malcolm scope on a heavy recoil gun. The sliding ring will reduce the impact from the recoil. Each time you shoot the gun, you need to pull the scope back.
